Why I Write

When God plants a seed it can take years to see visible growth. Yet, underground roots are forming deep. And even the dormant frosty seasons have purpose, offering rest to be strengthened and refreshed.

As a new mama, the Lord gently nudged me to write. He planted a dream in my heart to weave words together that bring hope—but not just to fill pages of journals hidden away.

He called me to share.
One vulnerable word at a time.
One intentionally crafted post at a time.
One honest chapter at a time.

Thousands upon thousands of words.
Watering the tiny but mighty seed.
Roots growing underground.
Waiting eagerly for shoots of beauty.

Some winter seasons bitter cold.
Few words and writer’s block.
Wondering if the joy to pen would return.

Imposter syndrome heavy.
Crippling arrows flying right and left.
You can’t do this.
Who are you to write?
Who are you to call yourself a writer?
You’ll never finish that book.
May as well quit.

But He has good plans.
My Good Shepherd who has been leading me the whole way, has good plans.
And if He wills it, He also beautifully makes a way.

If it’s not going to bring Him glory, I don’t want to write it.

But if it’s going to bring Him glory, then may my words be a joyful offering to King Jesus.

And maybe you need this reminder just as my soul has lately. Maybe it’s not writing, Maybe it’s something completely different He’s called you to pursue. But this I know…

If God calls us, He will equip us to take one brave step at a time.

So what is that brave step He is calling you towards today?
