Child of Light
To glimpse the sun rising or setting calms my soul with peace. The light is beautiful. For a moment, all the worries of life fade away as the beauty captures my full attention.
The light often reminds me of the Holy moment many years ago when Jesus ushered me out of the darkness and into the light—
And my life has never been the same since.
I’m no longer a slave to a life of striving to be good enough. The King calls me Daughter and I walk in the light with Him always by my side. He speaks Truth over me, only Truth. I rest in His Words:
Beautiful. Redeemed. Chosen. Beloved. Righteous. Worthy. Blameless. Radiant. Wanted. Pure. Treasured. Forgiven.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
~ 1 Peter 2:9 {ESV}
I exhale relief.
At times the journey has been a steady uphill climb, at times a descent, at times rocky, at times flat terrain…
And I know He’s been with me each step, ultimately leading me to green pastures of goodness. Even my pain has a purpose; after all, it’s my pain that first drew me to His healing Love. I once was lost, but now I’m found.
For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
~ Ephesians 5:8 {ESV}
So I let Him lead on, seeing beauty rise before my eyes. I walk as a child of Light, singing praises and exalting His Name alone.
